Green Plains Q2 2026 earnings: 45Z credits drive a return to profit

Green Plains (NASDAQ: GPRE) reported Q2 2026 revenue of $446.2 million, down 19.3% year over year, while diluted EPS swung to $0.83 from a $1.09 loss. Net income attributable to Green Plains reached $67.1 million and adjusted EBITDA rose to $93.3 million, including $58.7 million of net Section 45Z production tax credit value. Lower ethanol volume following the Obion plant sale reduced revenue, but improved ethanol economics, stronger segment margins, lower SG&A, and the tax credits lifted profitability. Quarterly operating cash flow was $86.3 million.
