Aflac Q2 2026 Earnings: Lower Investment Losses Lift GAAP Profit as Adjusted Earnings Fall

Aflac’s Q2 2026 revenue declined 1.0% to $4.117 billion, while GAAP diluted EPS rose to $1.63 from $1.11 as net investment losses narrowed sharply. Adjusted earnings fell 7.7% to $883 million, although adjusted EPS decreased only 1.7% to $1.75 and increased 1.1% excluding current-period currency effects. Japan’s yen-based margin improved on favorable benefits, while higher U.S. benefits reduced segment profit. The weaker yen, lower investment income and a Corporate and Other loss remained key pressures as Aflac returned $1.3 billion to shareholders.
