Chip, storage shares jumped in premarket trading. Intel, SOXL up over 5%; ARM up over 4%; Navitas, Credo, Wolfspeed, SMCI, Marvell up over 2%.

Intel is extending its advanced packaging strategy into the Micro LED substrate arena, with reports of a deep collaboration with Taiwan-based panel maker AUO to jointly advance CPO and high-density computing chip integration solutions, signaling that the heterogeneous optoelectronic integration technology roadmap is accelerating toward commercialization.

Optical stocks also gained in premarket trading. AAOI, Corning, POET, Coherent up over 2%; Lumentum, Fabrinet, Ciena up over 1%.
