Bloomberg ETF analyst: Bitcoin ETFs could reach three times the long-term asset size of gold ETFs

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas reiterated on the X platform that he believes the asset size of Bitcoin ETFs could reach three times that of gold ETFs in the long term.

He explained that Bitcoin investors are younger on average, and as Bitcoin matures and its volatility and correlation with other assets stabilize, it is expected to see broader adoption by large institutional funds; meanwhile, Bitcoin ETFs have stronger market enthusiasm and advantages in sales and investor education. Balchunas added that while gold has a 5,000-year history and will not disappear, in the long run, the Bitcoin ETF product category may surpass gold ETFs.

US launches $215M quantum competition, raising Bitcoin security concerns

The U.S. Department of Energy launched the Quantum Genesis Q Competition, offering up to $215 million to spur fault‑tolerant quantum computers with at least 100 logical qubits and hundreds of millions of reliable operations, targeting deployment by 2028.

Fault tolerance would enable long quantum computations; a machine running Shor’s algorithm could recover Bitcoin private keys. Google researchers this year estimated breaking Bitcoin’s 256‑bit elliptic‑curve system would require roughly 1,200–1,450 logical qubits, so DOE’s 100‑qubit minimum still leaves a substantial gap while demonstrating meaningful scaling.

Ansem: Zcash's price movement may resemble the initial phase of the 2017 Bitcoin bull market

On September 18, cryptocurrency trader Ansem stated that he has been continuously monitoring the asset since Zcash was priced around $300, and the current price has risen to approximately $1,500. He believes that $ZEC is now in a phase similar to Bitcoin's stage before its surge from $1,000 to $20,000 in 2017, and expects it to perform well over the next one or two years.
