Xpeng's July Vehicle Deliveries Edge Up 3.6% but Dip from June Due to New SUV Supply Constraints

Xpeng reported global deliveries of 38,027 vehicles in July, representing a 3.57% increase year-over-year but a 5.23% decline from June. This suggests the production ramp-up for its new, more affordable SUV has not yet fully materialized.

The monthly figure fell short of dealer expectations cited in a July 21 research note from Deutsche Bank. Dealers had anticipated Xpeng could deliver as many as 45,000 vehicles in July, identifying limited supply of the Mona L03 during the month as the primary constraint.

The Mona L03 made its global debut in Munich, Germany, on July 16, with a starting price of 123,800 yuan ($18,240) in China. First customer deliveries began on July 22.

Xpeng previously stated that large-scale deliveries across China would accelerate in August.

Firm orders for the vehicle exceeded 20,000 units within seven minutes of its launch. Based on dealer information, Deutsche Bank reported that the L03 has accumulated over 50,000 non-cancellable orders, with wait times for the all-electric version ranging from 13 to 17 weeks.

This suggests that August and September delivery figures will provide a clearer indication of the model's true demand and Xpeng's ability to convert orders into sales.

In June, Xpeng delivered 40,126 vehicles, its best monthly performance in 2026 and a 15.9% increase year-over-year. Growth decelerated in July.

As of July 31, Xpeng's cumulative global deliveries reached 1,223,828 units. However, its deliveries for the first seven months of the year totaled 204,004 vehicles, a 12.78% decline year-over-year.

The declines were more pronounced earlier in the year, with January and February down 34.1% and 49.9%, respectively. The drops have narrowed each month since, and the company will need new models, including the L03, to close the gap with last year's performance in the second half.

Internationally, Xpeng announced that the Mona L03 will go on sale in 65 countries and regions this year, expanding its global product lineup.

The company also outlined its long-term strategy for the Australian market this month, planning to launch five all-new models in the second half of 2026 and continue expanding its local sales and service network.
