Premarket Movers | AES Corp Soars 11%; AST SpaceMobile Pops 7%; Nike, Draganfly Jump 3% Each; Novo Rises 2%

Draganfly shares rose another 3% in premarket trading after a 18.6% rally in prior trading session. It announced Tuesday that the U.S. Army has selected the company to provide its Flex FPV drone systems, including onsite manufacturing, training, and secure logistics support.

Novo Nordisk shares jumped 1.46% in premarket trading as investors are looking to an experimental treatment of the most common form of dementia to help spark a revival.

The Danish drugmaker is scheduled to disclose results before the year is out from a pair of late-stage studies in patients with mild Alzheimer’s disease. The tests use a pill version of semaglutide — the key ingredient in the company’s hugely successful Ozempic diabetes and Wegovy weight-loss shots.

AST SpaceMobile, Inc. rose nearly 7% in premarket trading. In a message on X, AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) states: “BlueBird 6 has completed final assembly and testing and is ready for flight! On October 12, it will head to India aboard an Antonov large cargo plane.

AES Corp stock jumped 11% in premarket trading. BlackRock-owned Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) is nearing a $38 billion deal, inclusive of debt, to acquire utility group AES, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing people briefed on the matter.

Utilities benefit from a surge in power demand driven by artificial intelligence and data centres, prompting companies and investors across the board to strike deals with them.

Nike on Tuesday reported a surprise rise in first-quarter revenue and beat profit expectations as the storied sportswear brand's turnaround effort gained traction despite weakness in China and tariffs pressuring margins.

Shares rose 3% in premarket trading as the company also managed to clear some of its bloated inventory and wholesale revenues returned to growth in a sign of early success for CEO Elliott Hill's plan to get Nike back to its former glory.
