Pre-Bell|Wall St Futures Subdued; Intel, XPeng Rise 5%; Palo Alto Jumps 6%; AEye Soars 14%
U.S. stock index futures were muted on Tuesday as investors assessed retailer Home Depot's earnings for insights on the health of the American consumer and awaited a key Federal Reserve conference scheduled later in the week.

Pre-Market Movers
Intel rose 5% in premarket trading after an announcement that SoftBank would invest $2 billion in the chip maker. That followed a decline of 3.7% in the stock Monday following reports that said Trump administration officials were discussing taking a 10% stake in the company. A 10% stake would make the government one of the company's largest shareholders.
Home Depot gained 1.2% after second-quarter earnings and revenue missed analysts' expectations. The giant home-improvement retailer, however, said it still expects fiscal-year sales to rise 2.8% and comparable-store sales to increase about 1%.
Palo Alto Networks rose 6% after reporting fiscal fourth-quarter earnings that topped analysts' estimates and issuing first-quarter and fiscal 2026 guidance that also was better than forecasts. The cybersecurity company said it expects adjusted profit in the fiscal year of $3.75 to $3.85 a share, better than consensus of $3.68. Palo Alto also sees fiscal 2026 next-generation security annual recurring revenue of $7 billion to $7.1 billion for year-over-year growth of between 26% and 27%.
Cybersecurity rivals CrowdStrike, Fortinet, and Zscaler were edging higher in the premarket session.
Shares of AEye advanced 14% in premarket trading after the company said it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Black Sesame Technologies. Terms of the deal call for integrating AEye's Apollo long-range lidar sensor with Black Sesame Technologies' advanced chipset and perception software, the two companies said. AEye added that the partnership expands its presence in China.
Iovance Biotherapeutics said late Monday that Health Canada has issued a notice of compliance with conditions for Amtagvi to treat adult patients with advanced melanoma. Iovance shares were up about 12% in premarket trading.
XPeng rose nearly 5% after the Chinese maker of electric vehicles posted a second-quarter loss that narrowed from a year earlier as revenue rose 125% from a year earlier.
Fabrinet, the contract electronics manufacturer, reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings and revenuethat beat expectations. It also forecast current-quarter revenue of between $910 million and $950 million, higher than analysts' estimates at the midpoint. The stock, however, declined 9.7%.
Tegna jumped 5% after The Wall Street Journal reported Sinclair offered to merge its broadcast TV business with Tegna. The Journal report cited people familiar with the matter. The interest comes as Tegna already is in advanced talks to sell itself to Nexstar Media Group, which the Journal reported earlier this month.

Chinese plush toymaker Pop Mart International Group Ltd. reported robust revenue and profit growth, boosted by global demand for its hugely popular Labubu dolls.
Revenue increased 204% year-on-year to 13.88 billion yuan ($1.93 billion) in the first half of 2025, according to an earnings statement Tuesday. That compares with 62% growth in the same period a year ago. Net income jumped 397% to 4.57 billion yuan.
Xiaomi Declares Europe Foray in 2027 After EV Sales Gains Pace
Xiaomi Corp. intends to sell its first electric vehicle in Europe by 2027, declaring plans to take on Tesla Inc. and BYD Co. globally after gaining traction with its year-old Chinese EV business.
President Lu Weibing shed more light on the company’s expansion plans after reporting a 31% rise in quarterly revenue, riding the successful launch of its second electric vehicle over the summer. That helped counter slowing demand for smartphones.
