Big Techs Jump. Tesla, AMD, Palantir, Super Micro up Around 1%; Nvidia, Apple, Netflix Edge Higher
Big tech stocks jumped in premarket trading. Tesla, AMD, Palantir, Super Micro up around 1%; Nvidia, Apple, Netflix edged higher.

Tesla delivered 384,122 cars in the second quarter, down 13.5% from the 444,000 delivered in the second quarter of 2024 but very close to the Wall Street consensus estimate of about 386,000 vehicles.
It was the worst quarterly decline in the company's history. Still, the result was better than feared and up from the 337,000 delivered in the first quarter of 2025. The latest analysts' estimates heading into the report were in the range of 355,000 vehicles.
Semiconductor stocks appear to still be in a bull market. The iShares Semiconductor exchange-traded fund is up 12% this year, outperforming the S&P 500's almost 6% gain.
Chip stocks have tended to outperform when the market rises. Many are increasing their earnings faster than the S&P 500's aggregate profits. Several make artificial intelligence chips, which remain in growing demand from tech companies building data centers. The growth of AI spending is only a few years old, and likely has many more years before the industry reaches maturity.
