
Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 1.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR), which rose 4.52% or 0.16 points to trade at 3.61 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 3.37% or 0.36 points to end at 11.03 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 3.16% or 0.11 points to 3.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which lost 1.83% or 0.34 points to trade at 18.21 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 0.11% or 0.01 points to end at 4.37 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 8.23.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 10 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.22% or 0.16 to $72.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.19% or 0.13 to hit $68.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 6.85 to trade at $2,579.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.50.
