Spain shares higher at close of trade; IBEX 35 up 1.29%

Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services&Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum&Plastic and Building&Construction sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.29%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 3.92% or 0.43 points to trade at 11.28 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) added 3.80% or 0.86 points to end at 23.48 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) was up 3.43% or 0.63 points to 19.01 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which lost 1.07% or 0.26 points to trade at 24.10 in late trade. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) declined 0.46% or 0.30 points to end at 65.10 and Logista (BME:LOG) shed 0.27% or 0.08 points to 29.28.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 132 to 59 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 6.35 to $2,580.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.19% or 0.13 to hit $68.56 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.16 to trade at $72.44 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.50.
