Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.80%

Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.80%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 4.95% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.87 at the close. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) added 2.98% or 0.02 points to end at 0.80 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was up 1.75% or 0.25 points to 14.50 in late trade.

Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr), which lost 3.37% or 0.26 points to trade at 7.33 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 2.97% or 0.01 points to end at 0.33 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 2.67% or 0.03 points to 0.91.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 43 and 24 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.65 to $2,611.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.08 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.08 to trade at $71.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 106.13.
