Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.65%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods&Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.65%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which rose 3.85% or 5.12 points to trade at 138.17 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) added 2.99% or 0.46 points to end at 15.85 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) was up 1.72% or 2.85 points to 168.39 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which lost 5.38% or 16.13 points to trade at 283.54 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA) declined 3.31% or 2.15 points to end at 62.82 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) shed 2.68% or 0.31 points to 11.24.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 127 to 106 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.50% or 13.00 to $2,604.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $71.76 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 1.21% to 20.58, while EUR/MXN rose 0.90% to 21.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 105.84.
