Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 2.11%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 2.11% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which rose 1.09% or 0.28 points to trade at 25.56 at the close. Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) added 0.12% or 0.01 points to end at 9.86 and Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) was unchanged 0.07% or 0.00 points to 5.87 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Mediobanca Banca di Credito Finanziario SpA (BIT:MDBI), which lost 8.15% or 1.27 points to trade at 14.31 in late trade. Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) declined 5.48% or 3.52 points to end at 60.70 and Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU) shed 4.78% or 4.35 points to 86.70.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 398 to 148 and 37 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.43% or 0.29 to $68.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.42% or 0.30 to hit $72.13 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.67% or 17.50 to trade at $2,600.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.59% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 106.09.
