Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.38%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumption, Real Estate and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.38%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (BVMF:BRAP4), which rose 3.92% or 0.77 points to trade at 20.43 at the close. Vale SA (BVMF:VALE3) added 3.84% or 2.36 points to end at 63.78 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3) was up 3.78% or 0.45 points to 12.37 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3), which lost 10.60% or 0.62 points to trade at 5.23 in late trade. Totvs SA (BVMF:TOTS3) declined 7.76% or 2.64 points to end at 31.36 and Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) shed 7.21% or 0.16 points to 2.06.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 551 to 400 and 38 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 15.72% to 31.52.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.43% or 38.15 to $2,714.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.59% or 0.42 to hit $72.11 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 4.00% or 9.95 to trade at $258.70 .

USD/BRL was unchanged 0.06% to 5.68, while EUR/BRL rose 0.62% to 6.13.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 104.23.
