
Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Software, Consumer&Cyclical and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.72%, while the MDAX index added 0.81%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 9.28% or 46.00 points to trade at 541.80 at the close. Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) added 6.36% or 6.85 points to end at 114.60 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was up 4.60% or 9.80 points to 222.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresenius SE&Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG), which lost 2.68% or 0.93 points to trade at 33.79 in late trade. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 1.72% or 0.21 points to end at 11.99 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) shed 1.11% or 0.18 points to 15.99.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 6.91% to 3.50, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was up 5.68% to settle at 45.76 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 5.59% to close at 43.06.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 8.22% to 86.55 in late trade, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which lost 5.61% to settle at 24.24 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 4.36% to 11.18 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 9.24% to 7.86, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 7.14% to settle at 15.01 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which gained 5.78% to close at 17.94.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 4.36% to 11.18 in late trade, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which lost 4.08% to settle at 51.70 and PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 1.43% to 11.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 366 to 260 and 33 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.70% to 17.44.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.01% or 27.15 to $2,703.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.52% or 0.37 to hit $72.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.44 to trade at $75.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 104.36.
