Netherlands shares lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.80%

Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Real Estate and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.80% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which rose 2.29% or 0.69 points to trade at 30.82 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 0.77% or 0.12 points to end at 15.67 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 0.43% or 0.07 points to 15.19 in late trade.

Biggest losers included ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which lost 5.95% or 32.40 points to trade at 512.20 in late trade. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) declined 3.93% or 4.01 points to end at 97.94 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) shed 2.85% or 3.20 points to 109.10.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 18 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.70% or 0.48 to $69.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.61% or 0.44 to hit $72.60 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.75% or 49.00 to trade at $2,751.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.78% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.02.
