FTSE 100 opens slightly higher today; manufacturing PMI watched

Investing.com – U.K. equities started mixed on Tuesday. The top gainers were Beverages, Media and Mining sectors.

At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index rose 0.18%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also climbed. The FTSE 250 dropped 0.11%, while the FTSE 350 was up by 0.02%.

• Antofagasta (LON:ANTO): Fell 1.81% or 36.50 points to 1,976.50.
• BT Group (LON:BT): Dropped 1.31% or 1.95 points to 145.95.
• GSK (LON:GSK): Declined 1.29% or 19.50 points to 1,497.00.

In Commodities Trading:

• Gold Futures for December delivery rose 4.05 points to 2,663.45 a troy ounce.
• Crude Oil for November delivery fell 0.56 points to 67.61 a barrel.
• December Brent Oil Contract dropped 0.71% or 0.51 points to 71.19 a barrel.

Currency Markets:

• GBP/USD is trading at 1.3347.
• EUR/GBP is at 0.8334.
• The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 100.647.
