Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 1.14%

Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Household sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 1.14%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Premia AE (AT:PREMr), which rose 4.17% or 0.05 points to trade at 1.25 at the close. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) added 2.35% or 0.08 points to end at 3.27 and Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) was up 1.72% or 0.16 points to 9.46 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which lost 7.11% or 0.14 points to trade at 1.77 in late trade. Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) declined 4.46% or 1.25 points to end at 26.75 and Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (AT:OTEr) shed 3.67% or 0.59 points to 15.49.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 34 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.42% or 11.30 to $2,656.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.87% or 0.59 to hit $68.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.63 to trade at $72.17 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 100.22.
