Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.86%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods&Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.86%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which rose 5.78% or 1.22 points to trade at 22.34 at the close. GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) added 3.65% or 5.59 points to end at 158.94 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) was up 2.60% or 0.23 points to 9.09 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which lost 5.90% or 17.61 points to trade at 280.93 in late trade. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) declined 5.40% or 8.93 points to end at 156.50 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) shed 2.89% or 0.95 points to 31.92.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 138 to 86 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 4.40 to $2,681.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.40% or 1.72 to hit $69.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $73.16 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.11% to 19.65, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 21.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 100.64.
