Portugal shares lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.06%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.06%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which unchanged 0.84% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.42 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.62% or 0.02 points to end at 2.42 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) was up 0.53% or 0.08 points to 15.16 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which lost 1.57% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.50 in late trade. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) declined 0.91% or 0.04 points to end at 4.81 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) shed 0.82% or 0.12 points to 14.44.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 10 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.40% or 0.30 to $74.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $71.08 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.25% or 32.75 to trade at $2,647.35 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 100.43.
