Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.59%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods&Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.59%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which rose 7.76% or 0.59 points to trade at 8.19 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) added 2.54% or 1.18 points to end at 47.57 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) was up 2.13% or 0.29 points to 13.91 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX), which lost 1.47% or 0.91 points to trade at 61.10 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) declined 1.14% or 0.53 points to end at 46.07 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) shed 1.09% or 0.23 points to 20.89.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 133 to 89 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 7.60 to $2,584.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.16% or 0.81 to hit $69.15 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $72.94 a barrel.

USD/MXN was unchanged 0.01% to 19.28, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 21.44.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 100.63.
