Greece shares higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.31%

Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.31%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr), which rose 3.23% or 0.40 points to trade at 12.80 at the close. Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) added 2.97% or 0.07 points to end at 2.26 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 2.78% or 0.01 points to 0.37 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which lost 2.53% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.28 in late trade. Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr) declined 2.05% or 0.10 points to end at 4.79 and Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Co SA (AT:TWSr) shed 1.86% or 0.06 points to 3.16.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 43 and 25 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 3.90 to $2,606.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.87% or 1.27 to hit $69.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.63% or 1.17 to trade at $72.78 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 100.41.
