Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.43%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods&Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.43%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB), which rose 3.46% or 5.33 points to trade at 159.59 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) added 3.45% or 12.53 points to end at 376.00 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA) was up 3.09% or 2.13 points to 70.99 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO), which lost 3.13% or 0.37 points to trade at 11.47 in late trade. GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) declined 2.68% or 3.98 points to end at 144.61 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) shed 2.21% or 5.20 points to 230.01.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 125 to 119 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 3.45 to $2,526.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.55% or 1.09 to hit $69.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $72.75 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 19.93, while EUR/MXN fell 0.04% to 22.09.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 101.23.
