Taiwan shares lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.15%

Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Transport and Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.15%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Global Lighting Technologies Inc (TW:4935), which rose 10.00% or 6.00 points to trade at 66.00 at the close. Evermore Chemical Industry Co Ltd (TW:1735) added 9.89% or 2.15 points to end at 23.90 and Patec Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW:2236) was up 9.31% or 9.50 points to 111.50 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Silergy Corp (TW:6415) shed 7.85% or 37.00 points to 434.50.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.45% or 0.32 to $70.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.41% or 0.30 to hit $73.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.70 to trade at $2,523.70 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.10% to 32.14, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.61.
