Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services&Real Estate, Building&Construction and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG), which rose 1.16% or 0.03 points to trade at 2.19 at the close. Telefonica (BME:TEF) added 0.43% or 0.02 points to end at 4.17 and Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) was up 0.29% or 0.05 points to 17.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which lost 4.75% or 1.01 points to trade at 20.25 in late trade. Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) declined 4.08% or 0.08 points to end at 1.87 and Unicaja Banco SA (BME:UNI) shed 3.20% or 0.04 points to 1.18.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 139 to 54 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 8.80 to $2,518.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.85% or 2.83 to hit $70.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.46% or 3.46 to trade at $74.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 101.75.
