Greece shares higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.30%

Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.30%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr), which rose 3.46% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.04 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) added 3.24% or 0.36 points to end at 11.48 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 2.99% or 0.06 points to 2.07 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr), which lost 2.55% or 0.26 points to trade at 9.94 in late trade. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) declined 2.04% or 0.30 points to end at 14.40 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) shed 1.64% or 0.26 points to 15.64.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 53 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.56% or 14.40 to $2,545.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.58% or 1.96 to hit $73.95 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 1.68 to trade at $77.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 101.40.
