Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.33%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.33%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB), which rose 5.18% or 7.83 points to trade at 158.28 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) added 5.07% or 16.97 points to end at 352.76 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) was up 2.77% or 2.74 points to 101.26 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL), which lost 1.58% or 2.70 points to trade at 168.60 in late trade. Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) declined 1.53% or 0.50 points to end at 32.17 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) shed 1.39% or 0.79 points to 56.04.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 188 to 65 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 16.80 to $2,554.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.01% or 1.50 to hit $76.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $78.74 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.08% to 19.85, while EUR/MXN rose 0.04% to 21.99.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 101.30.
