Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 4.35% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.36 at the close. Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) added 4.35% or 0.09 points to end at 2.04 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) was up 1.97% or 0.05 points to 2.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which lost 2.31% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.11 in late trade. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 1.47% or 0.03 points to end at 2.01 and Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) shed 1.42% or 0.01 points to 0.83.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 48 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 16.75 to $2,554.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.24% or 1.67 to hit $76.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.79% or 1.39 to trade at $78.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 101.43.
