Poland shares lower at close of trade; WIG30 down 0.58%

Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Oil&Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.58%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 2.19% or 2.20 points to trade at 102.70 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 1.40% or 1.25 points to end at 90.65 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 1.26% or 7.80 points to 627.60 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 5.67% or 0.59 points to trade at 9.81 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 4.30% or 0.16 points to end at 3.54 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 3.69% or 5.25 points to 136.85.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 276 to 220 and 123 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.74% or 0.56 to $74.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.80% or 0.63 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% or 9.85 to trade at $2,543.05 a troy ounce.

EUR/PLN was up 0.30% to 4.29, while USD/PLN rose 0.81% to 3.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 100.87.
